I bought this product towards the end of last Summer we used it from Mid August to Mid September with no issues. We put it away and brought it out in May and the machine stopped working. We called up LG and they dispatched a technician. The technician when he found out that we bought this from Amazon said Sorry I do not service products bought from AMAZON! Are you kidding me?

Ok we had to wait another 5 days in a heat wave for someone else to show up and the technician doesn't even look at the unit. He says that there is nothing wrong with it and the issue is my outlet. He tells us to get an electrician or use an extension cord to a different outlet. We did both and sure enough we had the same problem.

Now we had to call LG again and they sent a different technician who looked at the unit and played around with it and somehow got it to work, Great! 3 weeks later it is dead aain. We call up LG and they send it to the same technician. The dispatch rejects the request as he came to me twice and does not want to come again. (I guess LG isn't paying him properly)

Stupid LG reissues the service call to the same tech who just rejected it. Each one of these takes a week. I initially called them at the end of June. Today is August 7th and no one showed up yet.

So I spent the entire summer with my 3 young kids who they dont care about with no Air conditioning in our living room,

I filed a claim with Amazon and they said after 30 days there is nothing they can do. Stupid me I paid for this with Amazon gift cards and I cant dispute with the credit card company.

So to save all of you headaches. Stay away from LG & Amazon for Air conditioners. If for some reason you decide to buy from Amazon use a good credit card so you can dispute the charge if you have any issues.

I hope the silver lining from my horror story is that it won't happen to anyone else.

It did not say non-returnable when I bought this. I tried to cancel the order after reading bad reviews on other review sites, but Amazon said it was too late to cancel. (Even though it didn't ship for 22 hours after my request.) So it said to refuse or return when it arrived, and when I tried to return it it said non-returnable.

Stuck with it, I hoped for the best and that the reviews were wrong. Sadly, they aren't. The 9-year-old 2500 BTU air conditioner this replaces cools my bedroom better and more quietly. This thing is super noisy and sounds like a jet plane taking off. I sleep with fans and white noise year round, have lived with a train behind my house and slept through it like a baby, but this.... this thing I cannot sleep with it running, which defeats the purpose of having an AC for a hot summer night.

It doesn't cool well at all either. I cannot believe this is really a 8K BTU unit. I used to be a big LG fan, and have started to stop buying LG products because they just suffer from poor quality. Even LG phones (my former fav) have turned to garbage.

Don't do it. Buy an off brand as you will probably save money and get better performance. Or hit me up if you live in PGH and want to buy this off of me for half price because I'm going to sell it, cut my losses, and get something else.
